Heroic, Denmark based CS: GO organization, has announced “jabbi” as the newest addition to their starting roster. Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard will be joining the team in the coming days to start preparation for IEM Cologne 2022, which is set to begin on June 5. The 18-year-old potential superstar will likely replace “refrezh”, who was benched a couple of days ago, to prove himself at the highest stage.
Jabbi lastly competed under the Copenhagen Flames banner, reaching the top level in a short time period. He is considered one of the most valuable young players, given his bright look throughout the last two years. It looks as though Heroic will keep striving to have young talents on their roster, as four of the five players are under 23.
Jakob “jabbi” Nygaard described his feelings on the acquisition in a statement, praising his new teammates and the organization. He went on to say: ” I am looking forward to proving myself and showing that I can help take Heroic even further. It will be an exciting new journey, and Heroic is the perfect place for me to continue my development. I also know a lot of the players in the team β they are great guys.β
In case you did not realize from the statement, it is paramount that the young star still thinks he needs to improve his game. The fact that he maintains his modesty after being acquired by a respected organization will help his development in the following years.
Jabbi is not rookie anymore
Jabbi started his professional run in 2019 with GoldenGitte and then played for the teams like Team Sigma, Team Singularity, and Copenhagen Flames. During his tenure in CPH, jabbi participated in two Major tournaments, demonstrated himself in Stockholm and Antwerp. He advanced to the quarterfinals with Copenhagen Flames after finishing the Legends stage in sixth place ahead of Heroic.
Oliver Valsgaard, Head of Esports Operations on Heroic, revealed the main idea behind the acquisition of “jabbi” in the official statement, emphasizing that he communicates well and he has a mature attitude for his age. He said: “With Jakob, we are getting one of the most promising young players in Denmark. He is 18 years old and has already performed at two CS: GO Majors. And also he is very mature for his age, communicates well, and he can aim. Jakob has a great attitude towards hard work and is constantly looking to improve himself.”
With the addition of ”jabbi”, Heroic completed their Danish roster that will battle it out in Cologne, Germany. The 18-year-old talented player will make his debut with his new team soon. It will be exciting to follow this promising squad that has the potential to win a Major trophy led by their veteran IGL, Casper “cadiaN” Moller.
