MAD Lions surprised Team Vitality
The 2022 LEC Spring Split Week 1 matches kicked off with MAD spoiling Team Vitality, who is regarded as the super team of Europe. MAD Lions, a Spain-based organization that reached the championship in the past two seasons, started the league with a win over Vitality.
After their short Worlds 2021 run, MAD lost two valuable players ahead of the new season. Carzzy signed with Vitality, as Humanoid joined the other super team in Europe, Fnatic, to fill the vacancy left from Nisqy.
European fans were eagerly waiting for the opening match between MAD and Vitality. Alphari and Perkz, two laning monsters, returned to the LEC after carrying their team to the World Championship. The best player of the Western LoL history made his debut against the last champion, but he was on his day.
Perkz’s exceptional lane domination is decreasing with each passing year, as we observed in the past year while he was playing for Cloud9. Sometimes he could not choose the right macro strategy during the match, and that causes many problems for his team. We have known Perkz as the team leader and main shot caller until now, but it seems the Polish veteran should focus on his own game, starting from the lane phase.

Team BDS dominated by Fnatic in their first LEC match
Fnatic secured its first LEC win by taking down Team BDS, which bought Schalke’s franchise slot ahead of the 2022 Spring. Eight-time EU champion gave fans hope that if the coaching staff harmonizes the team before the playoffs begin, they have the right materials to make their way to the finals. Razork and Wunder have to be on the same page, as the Hyli-Upset duo makes a difference from the bot lane.
And also Fnatic does not expect Humanoid to smash his rival in mid-lane, but it would be ideal for him not to give any advantage to the opposite team. On the other hand, Razork is known as an aggressive early game jungler in the league. Fnatic may want to adopt a game plan that allows Razork to be shot caller of the team with Hylissang.
The European Championship will continue with a thrilling match between Vitality and Fnatic tonight. Both teams intend to show that they are the top favorite, and many fierce match-ups such as Wunder versus Alphari and Selfmade versus Razork will be waiting for fans. You can watch all the action from LEC’s official Twitch and YouTube channel. Have fun!
