2022 BAFTA Games Awards, one of the most prestigious celebrating events in the video games industry, has come and gone, and the winners have officially been announced. Returnal, a third-person shooter thriller developed by Housemarque, dominated BAFTA 2022, winning four categories, including Best Game. The PS5 exclusive collected Audio Achievement and Music while It Takes Two picked the Best Multiplayer award as everyone expected.

Jane Perry, the Canadian actor, won Performer in Leading Role thanks to her outstanding performance as Selene in Returnal.

BAFTA 2022 Games Awards satisfied indie fans who have tried some hit titles such as Unpacking, Inscryption, and The Artful Escape by rewarding them in four different categories. Unpacking, a mind-blowing puzzle game developed by Witch Beam, won Best Narrative and EE Game of the Year, which was voted by the community. Thus, it has been proven that Unpacking has built a loyal player base in less than one year.

The other independent games competing in the event have won the categories they were nominated for. Chicory: A Colorful Tale has been selected as the Best Family Game, while Inscryption came away with Game Design. To sum it up for those who have not checked out this adventure game, Inscryption is a single-player, card-based roguelike that blends puzzles and psychological horror together. 97% of Inscryption’s Steam reviews are highly positive, and its user score on MetaCritic is around 8.7, which makes this deckbuilding game worth playing.
