LEC 2022 Summer: MAD Lions Sits Atop

| | ,

Week 6 of the 2022 LEC Summer Split has officially come to an end. MAD Lions moved into sole possession after defeating Fnatic and Excel, while Rogue faced two upsetting results against Misfits Gaming and Astralis. Team Vitality, on the other hand, found themselves in second place, having triumphed over G2 Esports led by their veteran superstar, Perkz.

With only three losses under their belt, MAD Lions solidified their top place on the leaderboard as the European team extended their winning streak to six games, having prevailed over Excel in an action-packed game. Team BDS, on the other side, are the first team to be knocked out from the playoff competition due to the team’s disunited fashion since the beginning of the summer. For those who missed the matches, here is the recap of week six of the 2022 LEC Summer.

Team BDS Are Out of the playoff contention

Team BDS joined the LEC by acquiring Schalke’s league spot ahead of the 2022 Spring. Having completed the organization’s first season on the LEC stage in ninth place, Team BDS made some notable roster changes, replacing Adam with another academy player, Agressivoo. LIMIT was also moved to the inactive status while Erdote filled her shoes in support position. It looked like Team BDS aimed to be a contender for the playoffs with a team of LFL players. However, the other teams in the league empowered their starting roster with new additions. Team BDS, anchored in last place, were able to pull off only one victory in their first thirteen matches. They are now out of contention two weeks before the regular season comes to an end.

Fnatic, on the other hand, have now fallen out of the playoff places as they could not fix the role distribution problem among the team. Although the perennial European team cut down Team BDS, their discouraging loss against MAD Lions caused them to move back to seventh place on the LEC table. It is fair to say that fans may see Fnatic fail to make the playoffs. They will have to win the remaining matches to secure their spot without playing any tie-breaker game.

Perkz Leads Vitality to win against G2 Esports

Perkz faced off his former team, where he became a legend, G2 Esports, in a different jersey, but it did not prevent him from dominating the game with a perfect 10/0/7 game score. Team Vitality tied in second place at the end of week six as they shocked those who thought they would be a mid-pack team ahead of the season.

LEC 2022 Summer Split will continue with a batch of breathtaking matches between the top teams. MAD Lions will take on Rogue to reinforce their first place, while G2 Esports will go up against Excel to climb up in the standings. Team Vitality, on the other hand, will play against Team BDS and Astralis to capture another perfect week. You can watch all the games on the official LEC Twitch channel.
