One of the most prestigious tournaments of the year, 2022 Mid-Season Invitational, begins in next week, and we have already started to take a detailed look at participating teams. DetonatioN FocusMe and Saigon Buffalo were under our microscope, and more to come in the coming days. Riot Games revealed the full schedule for the group stage of the MSI 2022.
Europe and North America are set to meet on the first day, G2 Esports will take on LCS champion Evil Geniuses. LCK’s undefeated champion, T1, will make its MSI debut against the youngest team of the tournament, Saigon Buffalo, while the LPL representative, Royal Never Give Up, will kick off the group stage against the Turkish super team, Istanbul Wildcats.
Six matches are scheduled to play every day between 10-15 May. After the group stage is completed, top two teams from each group will advance to the rumbling stage. The format for the first two stages will be nearly the same. Matches will be bo1, and double round-robin will determine the course. Single elimination bracket will be activated in the knockout stage, where top four teams from the rumbling stage will battle it out to survive in hell.
