FaZe Clan won ESL Pro League Season 15

The 15th season of ESL Pro League has come to an end with FaZe Clan collecting their second trophy of the year after taking down ENCE 3-1 in the grand finals. FaZe Clan have already left their mark in 2022 by dominating the pro stage during the last two tournaments. The European representative kicked off the season by winning IEM Katowice 2022, one of the toughest international tournaments. Their fairy tale continues as of the first quarter of the year.

ENCE, on the other hand, garnered accolades thanks to their unexceptional performance in the playoff stage. They should not be upset about the final result because ENCE proved that this starting roster could reach the championship in the future. If FaZe Clan had not started the year so well, ENCE could have won ESL Pro League, and no one could say they did not deserve it.

FaZe’s phenomenal playoff run

FaZe Clan made a shaky start to the group stage of ESL Pro League Season 15, completing in third place with 3-2 behind FURIA and ENCE. They faced off against Players in the first round of the playoffs. Even though Mirage was tough for them, FaZe Clan activated playoff mode and dominated the opponent in the remaining two maps, Inferno and Overpass. The series against Players was crucial because FaZe Clan were not in their best form yet. Players had a chance to squeeze FaZe Clan, but they underperformed. It would be harder to eliminate them in the next round.

The decider series for FaZe Clan was against NAVI, who finished the group stage undefeated. Both teams have been competing for years, and they did everything they could to win the series. After NAVI were knocked out of the tournament by the hands of FaZe, everyone thought they would become champion again. It turns out their predictions were not wrong.

FaZe Clan wiped out FURIA in the quarterfinal with two close wins on Inferno and Mirage. Their opponent in the grand finals was ENCE, who were considered the dark horse of the tournament. They clearly were not easy bait.

The grand final series started with FaZe securing the first map, Vertigo, with 16-11 and ENCE answering back on Overpass. The following two maps, Mirage and Dust II, were a cakewalk for FaZe Clan. They embellished their phenomenal performance with a trophy.
