LCS 2022 Spring: Week 7 Preview

| |

Week 7 of the 2022 LCS Spring Split is fast approaching, and there are a lot of fans who expect their teams to show up new compositions, unusual picks, and impressive macro game to be a contender for the championship. TSM is one of these teams in need of recovery, given that the organization spent over 5 million to set up the current roster of rookies, CEO Reginald stated in a Twitter post in the past weeks.

Let’s take a quick look at the final standings before week 7 kicked off. Cloud9 stands in first place with 11-2 as Team Liquid follows them behind with 10-3. After head coach “LS” parted ways with the team, Cloud9 had an agonizing 8-game winning streak as they overwhelmed top-tier teams such as Team Liquid and the defending champion, 100 Thieves.

Speaking of which, 100 Thieves had a slow start to the regular season and they have not found their best form yet. Better hurry because only two weeks left to the playoff stage. On the flip side, Dignitas and FlyQuest tied in fourth place with 7-6, which is gratifying enough for their fans. Keep your eyes on Counter Logic Gaming because they looked threatening with their outstanding performance against FLY and GG last week.

The full schedule for week 7 of the 2022 Spring Split is as follows:

Day 1

  • Immortals vs 100 Thieves
  • Team Liquid vs Counter Logic Gaming
  • TSM vs Cloud9
  • Evil Geniuses vs Dignitas
  • Golden Guardians vs FlyQuest

Day 2

  • Evil Geniuses vs 100 Thieves
  • Golden Guardians vs Dignitas
  • Team Liquid vs FlyQuest
  • Counter Logic Gaming vs Cloud9
  • Immortals vs TSM

Cloud9 will face off TSM, who anchored in last place with a heartbreaking 2-11 record, on the opening day, then CLG will try to break their winning streak on Monday. The other team that is scheduled to play against CLG is Team Liquid. Week 7 seems to be shaped by CLG’s performance against the top two teams.

The reigning champion, 100 Thieves, will battle it out against Evil Geniuses after opening the week with a potential action-packed game against Immortals. 100 Thieves will need a perfect week if they want to keep the ties with the top. You can catch all the action from LCS’s official Twitch channel.
