It’s hard enough to find the Nintendo Switch OLED model. It’s near impossible to track down six of them. But that’s exactly what an Arizona grandmother accomplished, though not how you’d think.
In a larger delivery, Deborah Lewis accidentally received six units of the sought-after hybrid console. She tried, in vain, to return them to the Target store they were supposed to go to.
Instead of picking up the consoles, however, Target employees had a surprise for the 68-year-old.
“On behalf of Target and your local Target store right up the street, we want to give these to you to give to your grandchildren or whoever you want,” explained Target employee Trent.
“From the bottom of our hearts, Target is so proud to do this for you, and we want to say thank you.”
Understandably, Lewis was in tears after hearing the good news. She plans to gift all six of the Nintendo Switch consoles to her grandchildren, who live in Chicago.
“My heart feels so warm right now,” said Lewis. “I’m coming in for another hug. You’re wonderful. Thank you so much.”
More than four years after its launch, the Nintendo Switch remains somewhat hard to find. The OLED model, in particular, continues to sell out across various retailers, including Target. This is most likely due to the ongoing supply chain issues.
