X019: 50+ Games for Xbox Game Pass and More

| | , ,

At X019 it was already announced that over 50 games will be arriving on Xbox Game Pass and much more. Xbox’s biggest event in London is currently taking place from the 14th to the 16th of November. Players did not get any new information regarding Xbox Scarlett. However, Project xCloud (preview) has now over 50 games in its arsenal to play, including Madden NFL 20 available to play now. Along with the news that sometime in 2020, game steaming for Xbox Game Pass will launch on the xCloud.

2020 will also be a big year for xCloud as the testing phase will expand to Canada, Western Europe, Japan and India along with it debuting on Windows 10. Controller support has also been expanded and you can now play games on XCloud via Razer Junglecat and Sony Dualshock 4 controllers.

Brand new IPs were also announced at X019 and we were given updates on games currently in development. Let’s check out some of the games that were mentioned at XO19.

Everwild

A brand new IP by the developers of Rare is Everwild. The game is currently in early development, however, the small snap-shot we’ve got of the title looks absolutely beautiful. Craig Duncan (Rare Studio Head) stated:

Everwild will give you memorable, engaging and meaningful experiences for players everywhere to share. We cannot wait to share more with you in the future.”

Grounded

Obsidian Entertainment, who just recently released The Outer Worlds, have announced their new game, Grounded. The game is set for spring 2020. It appears that your character is the size of an ant and you have to fight off the natural elements along with everything that co-sides with that to survive. It’s certainly an interesting twist to the survival game genre however only time will tell if it will stand out.

West of Dead

It’s time to duck and shoot with West of Dead developed by Upstream Arcade. The player takes control of William Mason, a dead man finding himself in a paranormal Wild West that is actually purgatory. If you’re curious of the title you can play the open beta of the game right now.

Kartrider: Drift

A brand new addition to the Crazy Arcade franchise is Nexon’s, Kartrider: Drift. The game will be driving itself onto the Xbox and PC. The free to play racing multiplayer title will feature customizable characters and karts, different racing modes and will be supported by controller and keyboard. If you’re interested in participating in the closed beta make sure you sign yourself up.

New Trailer for Bleeding Edge

Are you ready to cause some chaos with Bleeding Edge? Ninja Theory’s attempt to break into the multiplayer combat genre has finally got a release date. The game is set to release on March 24th 2020. However, if you pre-order the game now, Xbox Game Pass members will have access to play the closed beta on February 14th  along with getting some bonus content, including skins.

Tell Me Why

The studio that brought us Life is Strange is bringing us a new narrative adventure called Tell Me Why. The story revolves around twins, Tyler and Alyson who are about to challenge the mysteries regarding their childhoods. Tyler is a transgender man, which isn’t explored in media often, let alone video games. If this title is like the other narrative experiences Dotnod Entertainment has brought us in the past, it’s time to get the tissues on standby. All chapters are coming summer of 2020.

Age of Empires IV

It’s been over 14 years since the last Age of Empires game, can you believe that? Age of Empires IV will be set in the medieval era and will predominantly focus on the Mongols and The English civilizations. Unfortunately at this given time, there is no indication of a release date. Studio Head of World Edge, Shannon Loftis said

“There might be even more to find in the trailer.”

Minecraft Dungeons

Mojang will be bringing us a spin-off game in the Minecraft universe. Minecraft Dungeons will deviate from the previous titles as it will be your classic dungeon crawler. You’ll be able to customize your character and team up to four players in multiplayer. You’ll engage in melee and ranged combat along with collecting items and weapons. Don’t worry if your teammate dies along the way, you’ll have an opportunity to revive them. The game will be launching in April of 2020.

Wasteland 3

The original Wasteland was released all the way back in the year 1988. Nonetheless, you don’t have to play any of the prior games to jump into the new installment known as Wasteland 3 developed by inXile Entertainment.

On the official Wasteland 3, Xbox page the game details state:

“You are a Desert Ranger, fighting a losing battle to keep your beloved Arizona alive, when the self-proclaimed Patriarch of Colorado radios, promising aid if you will do a job he can only entrust to an outsider—rescue his land from the ambitions of his three bloodthirsty children.”

A post-apocalyptic open-world RPG, all your choices matter and will, therefore, affect how characters will interact with you. Your choices may even have ripple effects later throughout the game. It’s hard not to be excited about this upcoming title that is set for launch on May 19th of 2020.
