VCT 2022 Masters – Reykjavik: Schedule, format, teams

The first international Valorant tournament of 2022 will be held in one of Iceland’s wonderful cities, Reykjavik. Best teams in the world will battle it out to be the new king of Valorant Champions Tour 2022. Former champions Acend, Sentinels, and Gambit could not take part in the tournament due to their heartbreaking performance in the qualifiers. Here are all the details you need to know about the upcoming Valorant tournament, VCT 2022: Stage 1 Masters-Reykjavik.

Teams & Format

Eight teams from different regions are divided into two groups, each with four teams. Top two teams from each group will advance to the playoff stage, where double- elimination bracket will come into play. The matches in the group and the playoff stage will be Bo3, while the lower bracket final and the grand final will be Bo5 as usual.

FunPlus Phoenix will not participate in VCT Masters – Reykjavik due to travel restrictions resulting from the ongoing crisis between Ukraine and Russia. The European representative was awarded 200 circuit points by Riot Games, which will help them attend the next Masters’ tournament.

  • NIP – LATAM vs BR playoffs

VCT Masters – Reykjavik is set to begin with an Asia competition between ZETA and DRX on April 10. Riot Games revealed the tournament will take place between 10- 29 April. There will be three EMEA representatives, while the NA region will try to reach the trophy with only two teams: OpTic and The Guard. Keep an eye on KRÜ Esports as the LATAM representative proved they could be an underdog after their breathtaking performance at Valorant Champions 2021.

Prize

The winner of the tournament will put 750 circuit points in their pocket, while the loser of the grand final will return home with 500 points.
