Turkish representatives, BBL Esports and SuperMassive Blaze, and the defending champion, Acend, have knocked out from the 2022 VCT: Europe, Middle East and Africa after G2 taking the hammer down on Guild in their last match of the group stage. All eyes were on the opening match of day 3, and G2 broke Guild’s win streak with a sheer performance on Icebox.
With this result, three European teams, Guild, G2, and Fnatic, advanced to the playoff stage as Acend got eliminated from the tournament due to the inferior performance they showed off throughout the group stage.
G2 advanced to the playoff stage
If G2 had lost to Guild, with BBL taking down Acend, all three teams would have been tied in the standings. G2 left nothing to chance, and the European organization wrote its own destiny. On the flip side, BBL Esports had to win regardless of the other results. Although they overwhelmed Acend in the closing match with an agonizing performance on Haven and Ascent, the best Turkish Valorant team could not make it playoffs due to being behind in the average.
The last and most anticipated match of group B will be played between Fnatic and Acend next week. Riot Games has not announced the schedule of the remaining matches of the group stage yet. This potential action-packed series will determine the first seed of group B.

FunPlus Phoenix will battle it out against Natus Vincere to finish the group stage in first place. The CIS representative, Gambit have two remaining matches to play against NAVI and LDNU, respectively. They have to win these matches to make their way to the playoffs.
If NAVI lose their remaining matches and Gambit have a flawless week, they could advance to the next stage. To sum it up, all teams competing in group B have to win to reach the playoffs except BIG. They have nothing to say about this race that shows that Valorant does not always have a single favorite team for the championship.
