Week 5 of the Valorant Champions Tour 2022: Europe, Middle East and Africa is set to begin with a thrilling match between SuperMassive Blaze and Fnatic in group B. The other team that will play against Fnatic is Acend. This time Acend will be on the scene to take revenge on their regional rival.
G2 Esports will have to win against BBL Esports to make their way to the playoffs. Both teams tied in fourth place with 1W-2L, and whichever team wins the series will take the advantage for the knockout stage. BBL Esports wiped out SuperMassive Blaze, who overwhelmed them in the regional competition, on their previous series with a sheer 2-0 victory, and this series will not be a piece of cake for G2.
The full schedule for week 5 of the VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 1 Challengers is as follows:
March 11
- SuperMassive Blaze vs Fnatic
- BBL Esports vs G2
March 12
- FunPlus Phoenix vs Team Liquid
- Guild vs SuperMassive Blaze
- Fnatic vs Acend
- BIG vs NAVI
March 13
- G2 vs Guild
- LDNU vs FunPlus Phoenix
- Team Liquid vs BIG
- BBL Esports vs Acend
FunPlus Phoenix will be testing themselves against Team Liquid, who is expected to be a contender for the championship, in the opening series of the second day of week 5. FPX exceeded the expectations by taking down CIS juggernaut Gambit and BIG, respectively. If they take the hammer down on Team Liquid, their way will be cleared to close up the group stage as leader.
Guild fans can expect more
Guild Esports are competing against Fnatic for first place in group A, and they are the surprise egg of the tournament with the outstanding performance they showed off so far. The European representative owned by David Beckham defeated BBL Esports and Acend before the delay, and now they have an opportunity to consolidate their place at the top. Guild will kick off week 5 against SuperMassive Blaze on 12 March and will play against G2 on 13 March.
The competition on both groups will heat up at the end of week 5, and fans want to see that fierce battle between titans the most, anyway. There is none favorite for the championship for now, which means any team competing in the tournament can make their way to the finals, where they can take the next step to reach the trophy. You can catch all the action from Riot’s official Twitch channel. Have fun!
It is worth noting that Riot Games allowed Russian teams and players to compete in VCT 2022: EMEA Stage 1 Challengers. Riot also joined the list of companies protesting the ongoing invasion of Ukraine and created a relief found for Ukrainian people affected by war.
