Genshin Impact Best Weapons and How To Get Them

| | , , , , , ,

It is easy to lose yourself in the vast world of the mega-popular action RPG Genshin Impact. It is equally easy to lose yourself in the sea of characters and weapons available. Just like its many characters, the hundreds of weapons in Genshin Impact are unique and unequal.

There are five main categories — swords, claymores, polearms, bows and catalysts — each comprising dozens of weapons. Not only does the choice depend on their abilities, but also a player’s playstyles and choice of character. To make the decision simpler, we share our list of the absolute best weapons in Genshin Impact.

Do keep in mind that the guide lists top-tier, five-star weapons which can only be obtained through the game’s gacha ‘wish’ system. So if you’re in need of some Genesis Crystals, you might want to get some over at OffGamers right here. Now, enjoy!

SWORDS

Mistsplitter Reforged

Mistsplitter Reforged

Base ATK: 48

Crit DMG: 9.6%

Obtained from wishes.

This powerful 5-star sword, blazing with fierce violet light, is a great representation of the nation of Inazuma. The incredible base attack and critical damage stats already make it desirable, but the best part of this weapon is the elemental buff. The weapon gains a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for a character’s elemental type, which means at stacks 1/2/3 the elemental damage is increased by 8/16/28% respectively.

This five-star weapon can be brutal in any character’s hands, but sword users who can infuse their Normal attacks with Elements such as Ayaka, Keqing, Kazuha, Traveler and Bennett can maximise the Mistsplitter Reforged’s elemental buff potential.

Primordial Jade Cutter

Genshin Impact Primordial Jade Cutter

Base ATK: 44

Crit Rate: 9.6%

Obtained from weapon event wishes.

Easily the most universal one-handed sword, Primordial Jade Cutter’s base attack and critical rate can go up to a whopping 542 and 44.1% at level 90. It also boosts ATK based on the wielder’s maximum HP. Not only that, but it also boosts the user’s HP by 20% at refinement rank 1.

While it is a jack-of-all-trades for any main DPS character, generally players pair the sword with Keqing, Jean, and Albedo for maximum use.

CLAYMORES

Wolf’s Gravestone

Wolf’s Gravestone

Base ATK: 46

ATK: +10.8%

Obtained from wishes.

This devastating claymore has been a favourite since the launch of Genshin Impact. While it may appear to do less damage than top-tier claymores, it decisively puts out more damage when its buffs and passives are taken into account. Gravestone gives a permanent 20-40% ATK boost based on the refinement rank. And when it hits an enemy below 30% HP, the weapon increases all party members’ attacks by 40%.

High-attacking characters such as Diluc, Chongyun, & Beidou can make boss battles and grinding a breeze with Wolf’s Gravestone.

Skyward Pride

Skyward Pride

Base ATK: 48

Energy Recharge: +8%

Obtained from wishes.

The claymore for support characters, Skyward Pride’s energy recharge and damage increase make it a fun weapon. It Increases all damage dealt by 8-16%. And after activating an Elemental Burst, Normal or Charged Attack, this weapon on hit unleashes a vacuum blade that does 80-160% of attack damage to enemies. The blade lasts 20 seconds or 8 hits.

Heavy-hitters like Diluc and Chongyun, as well as support players like Razor and Noelle, can utilise it well.

POLEARMS

Staff of Homa

Genshin Impact Staff of Homa

Base ATK: 46

Crit DMG: 14.4%

Obtained from weapon event wishes.

The Staff of Homa might just be the most devastating weapon overall. The base attack of 46 and the critical damage of 14.4% goes up to 608 and 66.2% at Level 90. It also increases the maximum HP of the user by 20% and provides an attack bonus of 0.8% of the maximum HP. If the HP goes down below 50%, the attack bonus is boosted by an additional 1%.

The Staff of Homa is crazy strong in the hands of a wielder with impressive maximum HP. It is suited for Zhongli and Xiao, but it is best used by the character it is associated with: Hu Tao.

Primordial Jade Winged-Spear

Primordial Jade Winged-Spear

Base ATK: 48

Crit rate: 4.8%

Obtained through wishes.

Polearms are swift weapons. And no polearm better utilises the speed than the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. It boosts attack by 3.2-6% on hit, and the boost stacks up to 7, dishing out a maximum damage buff of 42% lasting six seconds. And when the attack boost stat is full, it also increases the Elemental damage by 12-28%.

Xiao best unlocks the potential of this polearm.

BOWS

Skyward Harp

Skyward Harp

Base ATK: 48

Crit rate: 4.8%

Obtained through wishes.

This bow is a tremendous weapon thanks to its critical damage and critical rate boosts. It increases the critical damage by 20/25/30/35/40% and the hits also have a 60/70/80/90/100% chance to inflict a small AoE attack with 125% additional damage.

The Skyward Harp is best suited to Childe and Venti. The former can use it as his main DPS weapon due to his high damage, while the latter’s multi-hit burst attack can combine well with the bow’s passive.

Amos’ Bow

Genshin Impact Amos' Bow

Base ATK: 46

ATK: +10.8%

Obtained through wishes.

The best of the lot, Amos’ Bow is the best damage-amplifying bow in Genshin Impact. It has the highest base damage of all bows, which is further increased by its passive up to 12 to 24% for normal and aimed attacks. For every 0.1 seconds, up to 0.5 seconds, that an arrow is in the air, it further boosts the damage by 8/10/12/14/16%. It is the perfect choice for true ranged combat.

It’s a top weapon universally, but it pairs perfectly with Ganyu. After all, it was initially created for Ganyu with her Frostflake AoE mechanic in mind.

CATALYSTS

Skyward Atlas

Skyward Atlas

Base ATK: 48

ATK: +7.2%

Obtained through wishes.

Catalysts are the weapons of choice for mages, and none do it better than the Skyward Atlas. Its passive ability buffs any elemental damage bonus by 12/15/18/21/24%. As most mage-type characters use elemental attacks, the always-on ability is lovely. In addition, all attacks have a 50% chance to ‘earn the favour of the clouds’, which locates enemies and does a 160 to 320% attack damage every 30 seconds.

It is good for every catalyst character, and especially efficient with Klee, Mona, or Yanfei.

Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds

Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds

Base ATK: 46

Crit rate: 7.2%

Obtained through wishes.

With this catalyst, you just need to stay alive and stack up the damage. In combat, the user gains an 8% elemental damage boost every 4 seconds, for up to 4 stacks. You also don’t need to worry about switching characters when in trouble as the movement speed is also increased by 10%. Combined with its high critical rate, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds becomes an easy choice, especially for a DPS character like Klee.
