Razer Made an RGB Fan for Your Phone

| | , ,

If you’re worried about your smartphone turning into an induction cooktop when playing games, Razer has your back with the Phone Cooler Chroma.

As the name implies, the Phone Cooler Chroma is a small fan. It attaches to the back of your smartphone, whether it’s an Android smartphone or iPhone.

There’s a bonus if you have a recent iPhone, however — the Phone Cooler Chroma supports MagSafe. That means it can magnetically attach to the back of your iPhone 12 or iPhone 13.

The idea is to maintain sustained performance. Your smartphone’s processor gets warmer as you continue to use it, particularly when playing games or performing similarly-intensive tasks.

To keep things from getting out of hand, the processor throttles the more you use it. You won’t see the same level of performance over time, but at least your phone won’t be molten lava.

The Phone Cooler Chroma looks to keep your smartphone cool. However, Razer stopped short of promising how much cooler the fan will keep your phone’s components. It makes sense, since the fan doesn’t come in direct contact with the processor.

As for the fan itself, the Phone Cooler Chroma features a cooling plate on the back cover. The electronic tile uses thermoelectric cooling to transfer heat from the phone.

Then there are the heatsink and the seven-blade fan capable of up to 6,400 revolutions per minute. Last, but not least, is the cover with air vents and RGB lighting.

If this speaks to you, the Phone Cooler Chroma is available now for $59.99. There is a MagSafe-compatible version also available now for the same price.
