Hope you like steampunk-inspired dungeon crawlers
Developer Fatbot Games announced Vaporum: Lockdown will launch December 10 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One. This will be a digital release, with no mention of a physical release.
You play as Ellie Teller, a scientist who wants to figure out what happened inside of the tower of Arx Vaporum. If the trailer is any indication, perhaps it was better for Ellie to remain at home.
You play Vaporum: Lockdown in first-person, though the levels play like grids. That means you “walk” from one grid to the other instead of freely walking anywhere you like.
Visually, BioShock fans might feel at home with the game. It is a steampunk-inspired dungeon crawler, after all, so don’t expect bright and poppy colors.
Battles take place in real-time, with the grid system allowing players to maneuver around enemies. The game includes a “Stop Time Mode,” which lets you pause the action and consider your next steps.
If you can’t wait for the Xbox or PlayStation version, Vaporum: Lockdown is currently available on the Nintendo Switch and PC. The game currently holds a 73 and 68 for the Switch and PC versions, respectively, on Metacritic.
The Steam version currently has 157 reviews, with most of them giving the game a Positive rating.
