Apex Legends Season 1 Launches Tomorrow Morning, Battle Pass Fully Detailed

| | , , , ,

Apex Legends Season 1 is finally upon us. After weeks of rumors and speculations, developer Respawn Entertainment finally announced the official release date of the very first season of Apex Legends. Just like they did with the game itself, the devs decided against some sort of big advertising stunt in favor of simply releasing the new content when it’s ready. As it turns out, that happens to be tomorrow, March 19th at 10 AM Pacific Time.

Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass Overview

Known as ‘Wild Frontier’, the first season of the Battle Royale title brings to the table a brand new legend, free in-game rewards for all Apex Legends players, and of course, the eagerly anticipated Battle Pass. The developers announced the Battle Pass a while ago but we didn’t know a whole lot about it until today. Well, not anything official at least. The Apex Legends Season 1 Battle Pass costs 950 Apex Coins and goes all the way up to level 100. Players who are in a rush to max out their Pass as quickly as possible can also opt for the Battle Pass Bundle, which costs 2,800 Apex Coins and automatically unlocks the next 25 levels.

As far as the rewards as concerned, they’re fairly standard, however, the Pass does contain a few nice surprises. Anyone who purchases the Season 1 Battle Pass automatically unlocks three new skins for Lifeline, Wraith, and Mirage. Meanwhile, those who manage to level up their Pass all the way to 100 can expect to receive the very first three-stage evolving weapon skin in Apex Legends. More specifically, a Legendary skin for the Havoc energy weapon. Interestingly enough, if you unlock the first 97 levels of the Battle Pass you will earn a total of 1,000 Apex coins so you’re basically getting all your money back as in-game currency and with a little something extra to boot. This is in addition to unlocking dozens of cosmetic items along the way.

New Legend and Free Rewards for Everyone

The other big highlight of Apex Legends Season 1 is the introduction of a new Legend known as Octane. The character can be unlocked by using either Legend Tokens or Apex Coins. Basically, it works the same way as it does now with Caustic and Mirage. Octane’s Q ability gives him a temporary speed boost at a cost of a portion of his health. Meanwhile, his passive slowly regenerates his health whenever he is not it combat, so it all sort of evens out. Finally, his Ultimate ability allows him to deploy a Launch Pad on the ground that can be used by all passing players as a trampoline of sorts.

In addition to the Battle Pass and the new Legend, Respawn Entertainment also announced that Season 1 will bring free rewards for everyone, regardless of whether they purchase the Pass or not. The rewards will come in the form of a Wild Frontier skin for Octane, 18 Wild Frontier Stat Trackers, and 5 Apex Packs. Needless to say, you’ll need to first unlock Octane in order to make use of the skin but you can easily do so for free by simply playing Apex Legends and saving up your Legend Tokens.
